The administering organization reserves the right to substitute sites without prior notice. Caution: Bears frequent the area. All food and garbage must be kept in approved containers, a locked vehicle, or provided food storage lockers. Sites allow for no more than one or two 8 x 10' tents. Two non-towed vehicles allowed per site. The first vehicle is included in the basic fee; the second vehicle will be charged an extra $9.00 fee at the campground. Sites #1 and #44 are double sites. Double sites can be reserved as either a single (1-8 people) or a double site (9-16 people). The single site fee (1-8 people) is $17.00 for one non-towed vehicle with trailer per site per day; an extra car, including what it tows, is an additional $9.00. The double site fee (9-16 people) is $34.00 for two non-towed vehicles with trailers per site per day; an extra car, including what it tows, is an additional $9.00. A 4th car (maximum) is free. The Absarokee-Beartooth Wilderness Area is adjacent, boasting 700 miles of trails and hundreds of alpine lakes. The wilderness borders Yellowstone National Park and is a part of the 20-million-acre Greater Yellowstone Ecosystem. The nearby town of Nye hosts Nye Goes Nuts annually in July. The popular event includes food, drinks, children's games and the chicken chase, a crowd favorite. The small community of Fishtail holds its annual Fishtail Family Fun Day at the end of June, with a pancake breakfast, vendor booths, a parade and live music. |

The Stillwater River and nearby streams and lakes offer great fishing opportunities for rainbow, brown and cutthroat trout. Hiking the Woodbine Falls Trail is a popular activity among campers. The 1.5-mile round-trip trail begins in the campground and follows Woodbine Creek before ending at an impressive cascade. The Stillwater Trail provides access to the Absaroka-Beartooth Wilderness and is open to hiking and horseback riding. The trail reaches beautiful Sioux Charley Lake after 3 miles and continues on another 20+ miles into the wilderness. |
